Kamari is one of the most popular and vibrant seaside resorts in Santorini, situated on the southeastern side of the island. The village developed rapidly following the devastating 1956 earthquake, when many residents from the neighboring village of Mesa Gonia relocated here and established a modern settlement. The hallmark of the area is its impressive, fully organized beach, which stretches for several kilometers and is covered with signature black volcanic sand and dark pebbles.
